My Summer Beauty Must-Haves
/Hi friends! I can’t believe summer is just around the corner!! I don’t know if you’re as excited as I am, but I can’t wait for more warm weather and some sunny days on the lake. When it starts getting warmer outside, I like to switch up my beauty products for ones that give me a more dewy, bronzed look. I thought I’d put together a list of my favorite summer must-haves below for you all incase you are wanting to switch up your own routines! Self Tanner
I just put up an in-depth post all about my self-tanning routine, so you girls already know my holy grail tanning combo! Loving Tan 2hr Express in shade dark and Isle of Paradise Drops in share dark are my go-to tanning products. I like to self-tan every 5 or so days throughout the summer so I can maintain my color!
Sunscreen
The number one anti-aging secret is SUNSCREEN. I wear it every single day but especially in the summer. I’ve been using this Tula daily suncreen and I’m obsessed. It’s a gel formula so it goes on so smooth and feels really nice on my skin, without leaving it oily. Plus, it adds the prettiest subtle glow! Tinted Moisturizer
In the summer months, I love to use a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation! My go-to has been this Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I’ve been wearing the shade 3N1 Sand and it’s perfect for my skin tone when I have a tan! I recommend getting a shade slightly darker than your usual if you want to match your summer tan. The shade finder on Sephora is a good tool to help you find what color to get!
Bronzer
When I really want to enhance my tan, I love to use this bronzer on my cheeks, forehead, and the tip of my nose. I use the shade Seychelles for that “back-from-the-beach” glow. It’s a cream bronzer so it goes on sooo smooth and doesn’t look cakey. Plus, it’s almost identical to my Chanel cream bronzer but for a fraction of the price! After I apply my cream bronzer, I like to go back over the cream with this powder bronzer so that it sets it and I also really lightly dust the bronzer across my entire face!
Blush
I love swapping my matte blush for a more luminous option to really enhance my look in the summer and provide an all-over glow. That pink rosy cheek look is so pretty and I love how it looks like I’ve been out in the sun all day, even if i’ve just been hanging inside watching Netflix (lol). The It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores blush in “sweet cheeks” has been a staple in my routine. It’s a warm peachy pink and adds such a pretty color when layered with my bronzer. Plus, it has a light shimmer to it, without being sparkly!
Highlight
To complete my summer makeup look, I love to use a highlighter. The Tula Brightening Eye Balm Stick is a great under eye hydrator and a great highlight to finish your makeup look. Waterproof Mascara
When I’m out on the lake or at the pool, a waterproof mascara is a must! This waterproof mascara is bomb and stays on so well. It’s lengthening, doesn’t flake, and is a great dupe for the Two Faced Better Than Sex one! When I’m done for the day, it comes off super easy with my makeup remover or cleanser.
Lip Balm
A lip balm is a must to keep my lips hydrated and soft all summer long. This Fresh Sugar Lip Balm not only moisturizes, but it has SPF in it to keep your lips protected all day! I love the color Petal because it’s a sheer, natural pink and looks so cute with any outfit.
Wave Spray
For effortless beach waves, I love using a wave spray. This one from OUAI is weightless, smells so yummy, and works for any hair type. I just spritz it in my hair after using my Wave Wand. You’ll also always find a wave spray in my lake bag! After I go for a swim, I add this to my damp hair to help it dry with beachy waves.
