My In-Depth Skincare Routine
/Happy Tuesday! With the start of the new year, I wanted to share my in-depth skincare routine with you all. I have had so many requests for this post, so I’ll be getting really specific with everything I am currently using! My nighttime routine does vary slightly from my daytime routine, so I made sure to list the routines out in two different sections. *For any Tula products, POPPIE will take 15% off your order. Unfortunately I don’t have a discount code for any of the other brands!
Morning Routine
Step One: I always wash my face every single morning with this cleanser. It’s perfect for those with sensitive skin, but I also think its great for all skin types! Chris uses this cleanser as well and loves it.
Step Two: After cleansing, I apply a toner. I love this one because it’s specifically made to combat acne and breakouts! It also doesn’t feel over-drying (some toners I’ve tried feel like they’re stripping my skin).
Step Three: This is when I apply my serums! Lately, I have been applying a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum. I also love this Vitamin C Serum from Drunk Elephant.
Step Four: Now time for moisturizer! The Hydrating Day and Night Cream is hands down my favorite moisturizer - it’s hydrating yet lightweight and doesn’t clog my pores. I’ve been using it forever and could not recommend it enough. In the winter months or when I want a tan, I will mix in a few drops of my Isle of Paradise tanning drops to my moisturizer and then apply it to my face.
Step Five: Sunscreen! Wearing sunscreen daily is so important - even when you don’t plan on being out in the sun. I have been using this one by Image and really like it. It’s not oily and it smells really good!
Nighttime Routine
Step One: Because I typically have makeup on, I first wash my makeup off with this cleansing oil. It does an amazing job at melting away my makeup and doesn’t clog my pores.
Step Two: I’m a big fan of double cleansing at night. I want to be sure I have removed all my makeup and have clean skin, so I wash my face with this cleanser after the cleansing oil!
Step Three: After cleansing, I apply a toner (the same one used in my morning routine). As mentioned above, I love it because it’s made to combat acne without stripping your skin.
Step Four: Serum time! The serums I use at night are different than my morning ones. At night, I either apply the Drunk Elephant night serum or the Sunday Riley Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil. I apply the Sunday Riley one when I notice a couple breakouts popping up and it clears them up so fast!
Step Five: Now time for moisturizer (this same one used in my morning routine)! As I mentioned in my morning routine, it’s my all time favorite. I will also mix in isle of paradise tanning drops in this step as well if I need a tan!
Step Six: The last product I apply is this neck cream - I just started incorporating it into my routine and so far I’m really liking it! When I sleep on my side I often wake up with neck and chest lines, but if I put this on before bed it helps smooth them out.
+ If my lips are feeling dry I will apply this lip mask right before I go to bed! It’s sooo hydrating!
Favorite Exfoliators
Tinkle Razors: If you haven’t shaved your face before, it is an absolute game changer! These little facial razors are perfect for removing any peach fuzz and allow products and makeup to go on your skin so well. I will shave my face with one of these razors about once a week. Make sure to coat your face in an oil before shaving to help get a smooth even shave and prevent tugging at your skin! I use this cleansing oil.
Tula Sugar Scrub: This product smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling so smooth. I use this every 3-4 days.
KORA Organics Turmeric Exfoliating Mask: I keep this mask in my shower! I love how the steam opens up my pores when using this product + it has a peppermint scent to it that is super refreshing. I use it whenever I feel like my skin needs a pick-me-up!
I would love to learn about what skincare products you are using and loving! Let me know in the comments below!! xx Heather
